Hi,

I have a home made fruit cage which I grow some lovely fruits in, however last year my Loganberry and jostaberry failed and I think it may be due to having the wrong feed.

Do you know of a feed which will suit raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, red gooseberries, Victoria Plums, blackcurrents, tayberries and jostaberries (cross between blackcurrant and Gooseberry).

Many thanks.
J

Hi Jenny,

I know that blueberries and raspberries like ericaceous feeds so I would go with one of those. There are some good organic feeds out for ericaceous plants, I use the miracle gro one on my blueberries and they seem to love it! Plus being a granular feed it's easier for me to feed the plants in the tubs and my fruit cage. Just chuck it on the ground, hoe in and off I go!

Hope that helps,

All the best

RP

Loganberry and Jostaberry will grow with any fertilizers, so that is unlikely to be the problem.

Hi Rosie,

Thanks for that i'll give it a go.... I do live on more or less solid chalk, even though I prepared the soil prior to planting it may well be this that is causing the problem if they need acid soil.

Realfood - if you do not think this is the issue do you have any other ideas?

Thanks

Jen
