Containers are a great way of growing a huge range of plants – just make sure you use a good quality compost
Alan Titchmarsh and the team returned this week with a new series of Love Your Garden on ITV1. And the compost of choice for planting up the containers was our Organic Choice.
Alan created a Japanese-style garden in Hampshire, which as you’d expect, contained a number of shrubs growing in containers. There were also some raised beds for growing vegetables.
The team chose Miracle-Gro Organic Choice Peat Free All Purpose Enriched Compost as the growing medium for the containers. This is an exclusive mix of natural, organic, peat-freee ingredients. It also contains an organic fertiliser that will feed your plants for up to 6 weeks.

I watched the ITV programme Love your garden tonight Tuesday 10th July in which Alan created a garden for 90 year old Iris. This garden must have cost several thousand pounds to create, and I wonder who paid for it and the labour. I thought the final result was very good. The only thing I worried about in the choice of plants was the inclusion of valerian, which is a menace in that it self seeds everywhere, and once established is difficult to eradicate. I know that to my cost, and a 90 year old will not be able to keep it under control. Finally I thought the trees were planted too near the pond and in the winter it will become clogged with leaves.
