At we’re launching a brand new competition that will run throughout 2011. We’re looking for the very best vegetable recipes, starting with the humble cabbage. Do you have a family recipe for cabbage soup that deserves a wider audience? Or perhaps you’re a cabbage connoisseur who’s an expert at growing cabbages and is bristling with brassica recipes just waiting to be discovered? If you’ve got a great cabbage recipe, we want you to tell the world about it.

How it works

Every few months we’ll be setting you a new challenge with a different vegetable. For February it’s the often overlooked cabbage. Usually just boiled to within an inch of its life, the cabbage is actually an extremely versatile vegetable full of vitamin C, iron and other important nutrients. It also has a unique taste that works well with everything from light summer salads through to hearty winter stews. So at we thought it was about time that this common garden vegetable got the recognition it deserves!

If you’re a blogger, post your recipe up on your blog and let us know by emailing us. New bloggers are more than welcome! Readers of the blog will then be able to visit your blog, see your recipe and then vote for their favourite recipe on our site.

At the end of the competition the recipe with the highest number of votes wins a fabulous dinner for two at a restaurant of your choice! So, get your readers to vote for you!

The prize is worth a whopping £200, meaning you and a friend can experience the very best in fine dining at a restaurant of your choice anywhere in the UK. Simply by letting us and our readers know your favourite cabbage recipe, you can win this fabulous prize and treat someone you love to a dining experience to be remembered!
