I recently bought several products from the Miracle-Gro 'Grow Your Own' range including the Organic Choice Potato and Veg Grow Sac. I heard from a friend that I need to 'Chit' the potatoes before planting. Can anyone explain to me what this means?!

To 'chit' means to encourage shoots from the seed potatoes before planting. The easiest way is to place your seed potatoes in a light, airy position in egg boxes. This will encourage the potatoes to sprout side shoots. Then, when the time and conditions are correct, you can plant them in the Gro Sac.

Hope this helps?

It can vary depending on crop type, but as a general rule you can harvest after flowering as the foliage starts to die.

Be careful when digging the spuds up, start out wide and work in to avoid spearing the potatoes with your fork, if you are growing in a 'Gro-Sac' then just cut the bag open to harvest your crop smile

All the best
