Hydon Hill is part of Leonard Cheshire Disability, which exists to change attitudes to disability and to serve disabled people around the world. It provides residential care for adults with physical disabilities and is set in beautiful woodland surroundings in Godalming, close to the Miracle-Gro headquarters.

Scotts Miracle-Gro provides help and support to Hydon Hill as part of our Community Outreach Programme. Dave, the resident gardener, is contracted for around 13 hours per week, but he clearly works many more hours above and beyond this and his vision and enthusiasm for the gardens is contagious. We have been providing advice and free products to Hydon Hill for the last 2 years. As a result, many areas of the gardens have vastly improved, particularly the lawns through regular applications of a variety of Scotts’ lawn fertilisers and Verdone Extra lawn weedkiller.
But 1 gardener working 13 hours per week on around 13 acres of gardens and woodlands is a tall order, and Lindsay Durrant from our Consumer Services Department has been visiting Hydon Hill to try and improve some of the residents’ garden areas, which have not been touched for some time.

We have decided that these beds will provide an excellent location to display our new for 2013
We hope that these improvements, while simple, will provide the residents with some much-needed colour outside their windows.
