Murphy Sequestrene Granules

Murphy Sequestrene Granular Iron Tonic for acid-loving ericaceous plants. Provides iron in a chelated form which can easily be taken up in any soil. Cures iron deficiency and allows lime-hating plants to be grown in alkaline soil. One application in early spring is all that’s needed for strong growth of all your ericaceous plants, including Pieris, Skimmia and Raspberries.

Ericaceous plants

Ericaceous plants are often referred to as lime-hating or acid-loving plants. The most commonly grown ericaceous plants are: Azalea, Camellia and Rhododendrons. These plants thrive in a low lime environment (pH 5 to 5.5). If they are grown in soil where the pH is too high, they produce poor growth and the leaves tend to become yellowish in colour.
