The Miracle-Gro® Gro-ables® Yellow Cherry Tomato Seed Pod™ is biodegradable, which means unlike with peat pots, the roots can grow freely through and get established in the surrounding soil.  The outer shell also helps protect the seed by retaining moisture and contains a 6 month controlled release feed that provides the nutrients needed to help establish strong roots and provide strength to germinate.

How to Get a Better Crop of Yellow Cherry Tomatoes

Use a planting ring, this will help to make sure water gets straight to the roots and not run off the top of the compost.

A good idea is to plant a companion plant next to your tomato plant, French Marigold will help deter whitefly.

At the end of the growing season, if you still have some green tomatoes left, pick them and put them in a brown paper bag with a banana, this will help to ripen them.

Common Issues

Keeping the plants in warm conditions can cause red spider mite, so make sure you mist your plants to keep them moist.

When watering, make sure this is kept to a regular routine, as sporadic watering can cause blossom end rot.

Aphids can be a problem, so check your plants on a regular basis and at the first sign, treat the plants with a insecticide that is suitable to be used on edibles.
