It’s easy to create colour with bulbs
If you’re looking for a quick and easy autumn project that will inject a splash of colour into your garden come springtime, then try planting up some bulbs. Spring bulbs look spectacular planted in patio pots, or even better on their own when used to liven up those forgotten corners of your garden such as under trees, next to sheds, or alongside garden pathways. Perfect for newcomers to the gardening scene, just four simple steps this autumn will give you stunning rewards in early spring, which will make a dazzling re-appearance year after year with very little encouragement.

1. September – October: Buy a selection of bulbs from the garden centre such as purple hyacinths and white daffodils, that will provide colour from early spring until the beginning of summer.
2. Fill your containers with Miracle-Gro Eco Sense Bulb Booster, which guarantees better blooms, compared to ordinary garden soil. Bulbs need a loose texture of compost in order to grow strong, healthy roots and this compost provides just that. It will also continue feeding your bulbs for around three months.
3. Plant the bulbs into your containers ensuring that they’re not touching each other.
4. April: If you’re using regular compost, try adding some Miracle-Gro Bulb Booster when you’re potting up. This will give your flowers a burst of energy come springtime, encouraging them to produce beautiful blooms the following year. Plant any remaining bulbs out in the garden finding dark and neglected spots that could do with brightening up. Simply dig holes in your border soil to the depth recommended on the bulb packaging and enrich the bottom of the hole with Miracle-Gro Eco Sense Bulb Booster and a sprinkling of Miracle-Gro Bulb Booster plant food. Then simply sit back and wait for the colourful array of blooms to brighten these areas come springtime.
