Can Evergreen Complete 4 in 1 be used to feed shrubs?

Asked 1 year 8 months ago by gemac11

I used Evergreen Complete 4 in 1 Fertilizer in the hole when planting shrubs. Have I done the wrong thing?
I've been told this product will kill the shrub because of nitrogen content. I mixed a handful of 4 in 1 with soil in the planting hole and mixed it up. Would it be avisable to lift the plants again?

EverGreen Complete 4 in 1 Lawn Care

Hi Gemac11,

EverGreen Complete 4 in 1 is a Lawn Care Treatment, and not something to be used to feed plants.  We would advise that you lift the shrubs straight away, wash the roots, dig out and dispose in an unused part of the garden, the contaminated soil from the planting hole.

Once the hole has been cleared, you can use a shrub food or a slow release food already mixed with soil, both will keep the shrub fed for up to 6 months, meaning you only need to keep it watered.

Kind Regards

Amy
