I have black mould like substance growing on my lawn

Asked 1 year 10 months ago by S_Ward1310

over the passed few year their as been a black mould growing on my front lawn. After reading about it and getting information from out local garden centre the conclusion was that it had poor drainage, not sure how as the lawn is on a sight slope. So I went over the lawn with a fork to try and improve the drainage. The next year it came back so acting on other information I was told it's because I was cutting the lawn too short so this year I have not cut it as short and left a nice length on. This year the lawn as grown nice and green, but the black mould as come back again. over the year we have tried evergreen products but to no avail and the mould still comes back. Any information regarding this would be very much appreciated as my next action will be take the old lawn up and re turf the area. Where can I post a photo of my lawn which would give you a better idea of my problem
Kind regards
Simon

It's most likely to be a slime mould creeping across your lawn. The mould will not harm the grass just looks unsightly. You can brush it off, use a hose pipe to wash it away or mow it off and it will just disappear naturally. There is no chemical treatment for it.
