Lawn care for new lawn

Lawn care for new lawn

Asked 10 months 4 days ago by Scottrbell

Hello, I have recently had my garden landscaped and a new lawn laid from turf. It has been down for 5 weeks and is really nicely established and growing well. My 2 questions are as follows:
1) I have not cut the lawn yet, I have performed the suggested checks (grip a corner of the grass and ensure the blades break rather than turf lifting) and all seems ok. Am I ok to cut my grass now. I will ensure my flymo is at highest setting
2) Unfortunatley the are a few areas of clover in the new lawn (probably seeds blown in the wind from rest of rest of the housing construction site). Can I use Evergreen 4 in 1 on this new turf and if so should I cut the lawn first or sow on the long uncut grass.

Many thanks in advance for your support.

Hi LTG,

Thanks for your response, is there another product you can suggest that I can use on a young lawn to eliminate the clover or should I just live with it till it's more established and use 4 in 1 later

Once the lawn is established, it is fine to cut - as mentioned, use a high cut.

Please wait until the lawn is 6 months before applying Evergeen Complete 4 in 1.

Kind Regards,

LTG
