Fingers crossed for the Judges visit
Final plant preparation today Sunday as the panel of RHS judges are coming to visit this morning at 11am. It turned out they were a little late, but I still had 8 minutes to brief them on the concept of the gardens and to remind them about the involvement of more than 200 schools in the Miracle-Gro’wers project. A time slot of 20 minutes per garden had been scheduled, but they pondered and deliberated for much longer. I can’t work out if that is good or bad!
On Tuesday morning we will know the results. Fingers crossed for Silver Gilt award cards all across the board - you deserve it.
Before the judges came on the stands, Nicki Chapman and her BBC crew visited - taking 2 hours to film each of the four gardens. You may have seen the piece on BBC1 on Sunday afternoon.
We hear from texts and phone calls that it was a good programme and our four gardens looked great. Let’s hope so. Unfortunately the Miracle-Gro team of Jane, Paul and yours truly were still labelling the key plants to make sure everything was ready for the real press day tomorrow and a potential Royal visit. The Palace and the RHS are still keeping us in the dark. But we have suits at the ready and Jane has fancy dress and high heels to be presented. She promises to curtsey this time. More news to follow.
