A Guide To Types Of Bulbs | Love The Garden

Bulbs are brilliant for adding some extra colour to your spring borders as they include some of the earliest flowering plants. You can plant bulbs at different times of the year, depending what bulb you are planting. For example, daffodils and tulips would be planted in autumn, gladioli in early spring, and autumn flowering bulbs in late summer.

The majority of bulbs come from warm sunny climates.  As a result you should look to plant in these conditions in an area with good drainage and water regularly. Whilst the most popular area that meets this criteria as well as getting the most aesthetically pleasing results are border, bulbs are a great choice for growing in containers too.
