FAQ
Why should I wear gardening gloves when handling composts and soils?

Bagged composts, soil improvers, garden soil and potting mix are all made from organic ingredients that contain micro-organisms, including bacteria and fungi. Some of these may be harmful to human health, causing infections or illness if they enter the blood stream via cuts or grazes on your hands. These products also contain fertiliser additives which may irritate sensitive skin. It is good gardening practice to always wear gloves when enjoying this pastime.

FAQ
Can I use Osmocote Compost Soil Improver to fill a raised garden bed?

This product contains compost and other ingredients which are used to improve the texture and overall fertility of natural soils - it is not meant to be used as a substitute for soil or potting mix. Its purpose is to revitalise and improve natural garden soils for growing fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowering plants. It can certainly be used as part of the soil profile in a raised garden bed when used in conjunction with natural soil or potting mix. Full instructions on how to use Compost Soil Improver are on the bag and on this website.

FAQ
How much "real soil" is in your bagged Garden Soil?

Osmocote Garden Soil Premium Planting Mix does not contain natural soil removed from the land. It is made from composted materials from renewable resources. It closely resembles garden soil in appearance and is an ideal alternative to natural soil in raised beds and other situations where land needs building up.
