Nestled in the Hawkesbury, just outside Richmond at Kurmond, NSW, Yallaroo is Evergreen Garden Care’s dedicated field station where we put our products — and our promises — to the test under real Australian conditions. From turf plots and in‑ground beds to a purpose‑built glasshouse, it’s where we develop, validate and refine the solutions you see on shelves and on Love The Garden.
What you’ll find at Yallaroo
Glasshouse
Purpose built glasshouse (400 m²) with irrigated capacity for 2,000+ plants to run year round formulation, claim support and raw material trials. It allows us to set and control conditions so we can be sure the results we are getting are repeatable.
Turf Plots
2,500 m² of turf plots covering Australia’s popular warm season grasses (Buffalo, Kikuyu, Couch) plus common cool season varieties — ideal for fertiliser, wetting agent and lawn care testing.
Garden Plots
In ground garden, vegetable and weed plots that replicate real consumer conditions for trials on soil improvers, organic fertilisers and mulches.
Roses
Hundreds of roses (300+ across 5 cultivars) for ornamental formulation trials, pest and disease testing

Always on quality surveillance through National Growing Media Trials to monitor performance and consistency across our network

What we’re testing right now
Our program constantly evolves with the season and consumer needs. Recent and ongoing work includes:
Growing media controls & surveillance across Osmocote, Debco, Searles and competitors, plus specialty mixes for edibles and indoor plants.
Lawn fertiliser and lawn liquid trials (e.g. Fast Green, Lawn Health), wetting agents and green up evaluations across Buffalo, Kikuyu and Couch
Garden protection efficacy — natural and conventional options, timed applications and visible performance in consumer like set ups.
Claim support and formulation optimisation for organic liquids (Project “Ladybug”) with plant quality and yield assessments.
Collaborations & storytelling
Yallaroo doubles as a learning hub. Garden Gurus have filmed here to help bring premium growing media benefits to life for TV and digital audiences, and our trials regularly host category partners and media. We also engage with nearby research institutions to explore endorsement opportunities and joint trials.
