Scotts® Organic* Seed Raising Mix is ready to use straight from the bag with no further additives required.
HOW TO USE
- Fill seedling tray with mix to within 1cm of the top of the tray and firm in gently. If direct sowing into a garden, add a layer of mix to the sowing area.
- Make a shallow furrow in the mix to a depth of about 2-3 times the size of the seed.
- Sow seeds into furrow allowing space between seeds for easy transplanting once germinated.
- Lightly cover seeds with mix and water lightly.
- Keep seedling trays in a warm sunny location for germination, avoiding hot conditions. Do not allow to dry out. If direct sowing into garden beds, seeds can be covered with a plastic sheet or cloche to provide extra warmth and protection during germination.
- Follow seed labels for specific directions on when to plant out seedlings.
ONGOING PLANT CARE
- Keep mix moist throughout the germination process to ensure seeds don't dry out. If growing seeds inside, gradually harden them off by putting them outside at regular intervals once they are established. This helps to minimise transplant shock when replanting.
- Young seedlings can be vulnerable to pests such as slugs and snails, and may require extra protection as they grow.

- Wash hands immediately after use.
