Scotts Osmocote® Rose, Gardenia, Azalea & Camellia Mix

Scotts Osmocote® Rose, Gardenia, Azalea & Camellia Mix
A premium quality potting mix specially formulated for roses and other plants that prefer acidic and low pH growing conditions, such as gardenias, camellias, azaleas, rhododendrons, magnolias and pieris. It includes Scotts Osmocote® that feeds for 6 months
FEATURES
- An acidic mix designed specifically for plants that require soils of pH 6 or less to thrive (pH 7 is neutral and over 7 alkaline)
- Boosted levels of iron and magnesium produce lush, deep green leaves and help eliminate yellowing and premature drop of flower buds before they open
- Wetting agent assists moisture to soak into the mix and helps roots absorb nutrients
- Formulated with Scotts Coir for better moisture retention.
SUITABLE FOR
- All trees and shrubs that need acidic soil or potting mix in which to thrive and flower well. These plants resent clay soils and will suffer significantly if lime is applied around their roots
- Acid lovers include blueberries, conifers, hydrangeas, foxgloves, primroses, magnolias, poinsettias and lupins as well as those plants already mentioned
- Safe to use for new plants - the controlled release of nutrients means it will not burn soft leaves or tender young roots
NOT SUITABLE FOR
- Plants that grow best in neutral to alkaline soils and potting mixes, including crabapples, mock orange, robinias and viburnums
- Don't use in hydroponic growing systems or ponds
- Don't use on lawns - use only specifically named lawn topdress soils on grassed areas
HOW TO USE
- Use Osmocote® Professional Rose, Gardenia, Azalea & Camellia Mix straight from the bag. For best results, do not mix with any other material. Close bag tightly after use.
- Water plants thoroughly that are to be repotted and allow them to drain.
- Select a clean container with large drainage holes and partly fill the pot with Osmocote® Professional Rose, Gardenia, Azalea & Camellia Mix.
- Turn the plant out of its existing container. Loosen the root ball. If necessary remove any damaged or dead roots.
- Position the plant in the centre of the new container, and fill with Osmocote® Professional Rose, Gardenia, Azalea & Camellia Mix to 2cm from the top of the container.
- Tap the new container gently to allow the mixture to settle. Do not pack down.
- Initial watering of the plant after potting is essential. Allow the excess water to drain away and place in the shade for 2–3 days to allow the plant to establish.
