Features

  • Controlled Release Fertiliser distributes nutrients as plants need it, for up to 6 months
  • Wetting agent  assists moisture to soak into the mix and helps plant roots absorb nutrients
  • Water crystals absorb and hold many times their own weight of water, releasing it back in the mix as and when plants need it - perfect for hot, dry summers when rain is scarce
  • Growth stimulants to encourage strong root development for healthier, more vigorous plants
  • Trace Elements Micro-nutrients vital to plant growth

Suitable for

  • Indoor and outdoor plants, shrubs, flowers, palms, fruit trees, vegetables and herbs - an all-round all-purpose mix.
  • Can be used in pots that will be submerged in ponds but make sure the mix is covered with a 2-3cm layer of coarse washed sand or pebbles to prevent it floating out of the pot and contaminating water.
  • Safe to use on new plants - the controlled release of nutrients means it will not burn soft leaves or tender young roots.

Not suitable for

  • Don't use in hydroponic growing systems or ponds.
  • Don't use on lawns - use only specifically named lawn topdress soils on grassed areas.

HOW TO USE
Osmocote® Premium Plus Potting Mix is ready to use straight from the bag with no further additives required.

  1. Water the plant and allow it to drain.
  2. Select a clean pot at least 25mm wider than the original and partly fill with new potting mix.
  3. Carefully turn the plant out of its existing pot, gently loosen the root ball and trim of any dead or damaged roots.
  4. Place the plant in the new pot and position so the top of the root ball is 2–3cm down from the rim.
  5. Fill the pot with potting mix to the top of the root ball, gently tapping to help the potting mix settle.
  6. Thoroughly water the plant and allow it to drain, if necessary top up with potting mix.
  7. Protect the plant from wind, heat and strong sunlight for around 5 days.

ONGOING PLANT CARE

  1. Do not allow plants to dry out and water frequently enough to ensure that the mix remains moist but not wet.
  2. Osmocote® Premium Plus Potting Mix contains a balanced fertiliser but depending on plant needs, additional fertiliser will be required in time.
  3. Plants should be re-potted with new potting mix when they outgrow the pot or after 12–18 months.

WHEN TO USE

  • Potting mixes can be used at any time of the year.
  • Repotting established pot plants is best done either in Spring or Autumn - avoid Winter or Summer as the extremes of temperature may stress plants.
  • Flowering plants should be repotted after they have flowered - enjoy the blooms first!
