Get the kids outside and excited with a nature journal!
Get the kids outdoor and involved in nature journaling! Nature journaling is a fun, creative way to connect with the outdoors while encouraging curiosity, observation and imagination.
Head outside and see what you can discover — whether it’s in your own backyard, a local park or on a nature walk nearby. Look closely at the plants, insects, leaves, flowers and textures around you. You might be surprised by how much there is to find when you slow down and really take a look.
There’s no right or wrong way to do it. Your journal can be whatever you want it to be!
- Press leaves or flowers and make prints
- Draw what you see
- Take bark rubbings
- Collect fallen petals or natural treasures
- Snap photos to remember special find
To help get you started, we’ve created our own Nature Journal for you to use. Simply download it, print it out and take it with you on your next outdoor adventure.
Before you head off, don’t forget to pack a few essentials — a hat, some water, and coloured pencils or crayons. Then it’s time to get exploring, discovering and growing a love for nature together.
