Australia's most popular lawn fertiliser has an excellent reputation with home gardeners and professional turf managers alike. This innovative addition to the established range will green your lawn up in just three days and provide continuous nutrition for 3 months

When to use

  • Acts quickly because its nitrogen is highly soluble and available to grasses immediately after application and watering in. It also contains boosted iron and magnesium levels to feed and green your lawn
  • The traditional benefits of slow release of nutrients with controlled feeding, which eliminate waste through run-off and leaching and prevent burning, are also available from Extreme Green
  • Traditional lawn foods release or 'dump' most of their nutrients within a couple of weeks of application, causing a rapid surge in growth that quickly drops off again as the food supply diminishes. Scotts Lawn Builder™ uses patented time-release technology to ensure nutrients are released slowly and continuously over a three month period
  • Extreme Green has less than 0.5% phosphorus, which means it can be safely used anywhere in Australia without posing any risk to ground or surface water
  • The recommended application rate is just a low 16 grams per m2, not the kilograms often associated with regular lawn foods! One bag of Extreme Green is equal to three or more bags of traditional fertiliser
  • When used as directed, this product is safe to use around domestic pets and children. Check paws and feet for granules before allowing pets or children on to paved areas as staining may occur

  • All lawn grasses including all named varieties of buffalo, traditional couch, Santa Ana couch, kikuyu, bent, fescues and carpet grass
  • All grass substitutes such as dichondra (also known as pennywort or kidney weed), lippia, zoysia

  • Scotts Lawn Builder™ is not recommended for use on plants other than lawn grasses and lawn substitutes
  • Do not use on lawns less than 8 weeks old - from germination of seed or installation of instant turf (use Scotts Lawn Builder™ Seed & Turf Starter)
  • Do not use if the temperature is expected to exceed 30 degrees C - wait for a cool spell

  • Scotts Lawn Builder™is a slow-release fertiliser that provides continuous nutrition over a three month period
  • Every granule of Extreme Green contains Scotts patented time-release nitrogen as well as fast-release, readily soluble nitrogen for rapid greening
  • Nutrients are released at about the same rate that grass roots can take up the fertiliser so there is no wastage, run-off to waterways or damaging surge growth

How much will I need?

Extreme Green has a recommended application rate of 16g/m2

To work out how much you will need to fertilise your lawn:

  1. Calculate the area of the lawn in square metres (multiply the length by the width)
  2. The area multiplied by the application rate will give the exact amount of Scotts Lawn Builder™ you need
  3. Use a set of scales to weigh it out and then add it to the spreader ready to apply - do not be tempted to add a 'bit extra for luck' because over-application may result in nitrogen burning

How do I apply it?

  1. For best results ALWAYS use a Scotts spreader
  2. Check your model and make sure to set it correctly before you start (settings are also on the back label of the product)
  3. If you don't have a spreader, make sure you distribute the fertiliser evenly over the lawn - uneven applications may result in 'hot spot' burning where too much has landed in one spot
  4. Moisten the lawn before applying
  5. Using your spreader, apply half the required amount walking in one direction (eg north-south), then apply the remainder at 90 degrees (eg east-west)
  6. Wait for 24 hours, then water in thoroughly - granules start working with moisture

When to Use

  • Extreme Green can be applied at any time of the year for rapid greening - it is not season-specific
  • For best results, feed your lawns three times a year - in early Spring, early Summer and Autumn
  • Avoid feeding lawns in cooler regions in Winter
    • The release of nutrients from granules is controlled by temperature
    • In Winter when soil temperatures are low and lawn growth is extremely slow in many areas, the granules will simply 'sit' there

IMPORTANT: This product, when wet, may cause iron stains. Be sure to sweep all granules off paths, coping, paving, driveways, shoes, etc immediately after use. Do not allow the granules to come into contact with these surfaces when they are wet

Store safely out of the reach of children and pets. This product contains iron which can be harmful to dogs' livers if eaten in quantity

SAFETY FIRST: Read the instructions on the product packaging before use and take particular note of any warnings or cautions on the label
