SUITABLE FOR

  • All garden soils, especially those that have been in cultivation for many years andwill benefit from the addition of organic materials in the form of quality compost to improve soil texture and quality and nutrient availability
  • Ideal for constructingnew vegetable gardens or raised gardenbeds
  • Safe to use in soils that will be used for vegetables and herbs and as a mulch around edibles
  • Safe to use for new plants - the controlled release of nutrients means it will not burn soft leaves or tender young roots

NOT SUITABLE FOR

  • Don't use in hydroponic growing systems or ponds
  • Don't use on lawns - use only specifically named lawn topdress soils on grassed areas

HOW TO USE

  1. Prepare your garden soil before planting by thoroughly working a 10cm layer ofCompost & Soil Improverinto the top 15cm or so of soil with a rake.
  2. Add another 10cm layer of compost to the bed and mix it into the previously amended soil. This should create a 15-20cm raised bed.
  3. Use leftover compost as a mulch after planting (excellent for mulching around edibles)
  4. Water thoroughly after planting and as frequently as possible until plants are established
  5. For the best results after three months, feed withScotts Osmocote®Controlled release Fertiliser for Vegetables, Tomatoes, Herbs & Garden Beds
  6. Maximum application rates:
    • Sensitive plants 25L/m2
    • Tolerant plants 90L/m2

WHEN TO USE

  • Whenever soil is being prepared for new plantings
  • At the start ofSummer as a mulchto protect bare soils, reduce evaporation and insulate soils

ONGOING PLANT CARE

  • Compost Premium Soil Improvercontains a balanced fertiliser up to 4 months - additional fertiliser may be required in time, depending on plant needs
  • Avoid allowing plants to dry out - plants should be watered immediately after potting and frequently enough to keep the potting mix moist (not wet)

SAFETY INFORMATION

CAUTION: This product may cause staining of hard surfaces if wet. Avoid contact with hard surfaces and if contact does occur, sweep off immediately

When using potting mixes, we recommend the use of garden gloves to protect your hands, and if dusty, wear a particulate mask
