FEATURES

  • Scotts Lawn Builder™ Seed & Feed Kikuyu is a blend of kikuyu and annual rye; the rye is included for fast greening and to provide a protected environment for the slower germinating kikuyu seed
  • Includes Scotts Lawn Builder™ Seed & Turf Starter Slow Release Lawn Fertiliser provides the new grass with nutrients for up to three months
  • Once established the kikuyu will provide a beautiful, low maintenance lawn with excellent wear tolerance. The annual rye will die off in the heat of summer

Coverage

  • 100m2when used to oversow
  • 50m2when used to establish new lawns

SUITABLE FOR

  • Sowing and repair of kikuyu lawns anywhere

NOT SUITABLE FOR

  • Do not attempt to raise lawn seed in very dense shade - lawn grasses need direct sun for at least part of the day to thrive

HOW IT WORKS

  • Scotts Lawn Builder™ Seed & Feed works by delivering a blend of lawn seeds and lawn starter fertiliser that is easy to apply and care for during the first few weeks until established

HOW TO USE

For a new lawn

  1. Turn over the top 10cm of soil and break up clods to produce a fine, weed-free surface. For best results, apply a 3cm layer of Scotts Lawn Builder™ Topdress Mix and rake over again
  2. Determine the size of your area in square metres by multiplying the length by the width (1 large stride = 1 metre approx)
  3. Shake the box well and apply approximately 2 handfuls (28g/m2) by moving backwards as you scatter the seed. Ensure the seed is evenly dispersed and lightly rake over
  4. Deeply water the area using a soft spray and keep the area evenly moist until the seedlings reach 5-8cm tall
  5. First mow when seedlings reach 8-10cm tall
  6. After 3 months, fertilise the whole lawn with Scotts Lawn Builder™ All Purpose Slow Release Lawn Fertiliser

Oversowing

  1. Closely mow the existing lawn
  2. Shake the box well before use and apply approximately 1 handful (14g) of the product per square metre by moving backwards as you scatter the seed
  3. Try to ensure the seed is evenly dispersed
  4. Deeply water the area using a soft spray and keep the area evenly moist until the area evenly moist for the first 2-3 weeks
  5. First mow when seedlings reach 8-10cm tall
  6. After 3 months, fertilise the whole lawn with Scotts Lawn Builder™ All Purpose Slow Release Lawn Fertiliser
