Grow Your Own Fruit & Veg Produce At Home | Love The Garden

Grow Your Own

Almost any vegetable you can buy seed for can be grown in the garden or on the patio. Just follow the instructions for best times to sow and plant out.

Remember some plants are not hardy and could be damaged by the frosts that are common in the UK until the middle of May in the south, and as late as early June in Scotland.

Fruit trees, fruit canes and bushes are best grown in garden soil, although there are varieties of apples and pears that are grafted onto dwarf rootstock that can be grown successfully in large tubs.

Where to grow your own

Fresh fruit and vegetables picked straight from the garden have a flavour second to none. Every small garden or patio can produce some healthy vegetables even if you need to grow them in pots.
