How we help gardeners
Love The Garden provides practical support throughout the gardening year.
Our content covers many of the questions gardeners encounter every day, from choosing suitable plants and understanding when to sow or plant, through to lawn care, vegetable growing, weed control, garden maintenance and seasonal gardening tasks.
We also provide information about compost, plant food, soil improvement, lawn care and many other gardening products, helping gardeners understand when different products may be useful and how they should be used. Gardeners should always read and follow product labels before use.

Through brands including Miracle-Gro®, Levington®, Tomorite®, Roundup®, Weedol®, Clear™ and Patio Magic!®, Evergreen Garden Care supports gardeners across compost and growing media, plant nutrition, lawn care, weed control, pest and disease control, and outdoor surface maintenance.
Miracle-Gro® - Gardening Products
Miracle-Gro® was created in the United States in 1951 and was introduced to UK gardeners in 1990 with the launch of Miracle-Gro® Soluble Plant and Lawn Food.
Today, the brand includes plant food, organic plant food, peat-free compost and lawn care products for flowers, fruit, vegetables, houseplants and lawns.
While the Miracle-Gro® brand originated in the United States, UK and Irish products are developed and managed by Evergreen Garden Care under licence from The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company. Since Evergreen Garden Care was established in 2017, product development, research and testing for UK and European gardeners have been conducted separately from the North American business. This work is supported by the Evergreen Research Station in Levington, near Ipswich, which has been at the forefront of horticultural research and product development since 1956.
Levington® - Gardening Products
Celebrating 60 years in 2027, Levington® has been helping UK gardeners create the right foundations for successful growing since 1967, originating in the village of Levington in Suffolk. Levington specialises in specialist plant foods, peat-free composts, growing media and soil improvement products, and is also home to the John Innes compost range produced under licence from the John Innes Manufacturers Association.
The range includes John Innes No.1, No.2 and No.3 composts, as well as Seed Compost with added John Innes and Multi Purpose Compost with added John Innes. These products are developed for different stages of plant growth, from seed sowing and rooting cuttings through to establishing and maturing plants.
Tomorite® - Plant Food
Tomorite® is one of the UK's oldest and best-known tomato growing brands. Developed in 1912 specifically for tomatoes and other fruiting crops, it is designed to support feeding throughout the growing season and is used by gardeners growing tomatoes in containers, greenhouses, raised beds and vegetable gardens. Often known as ‘the gardener’s secret’, it can also be used successfully for flowers.
The Tomorite® Gro-bag was developed to be used in conjunction with the feed to support the healthy growth of all tomatoes and vegetables.
Roundup® - Weed Control Products
Roundup® is one of the most recognised names in weed control. The brand offers a range of weedkillers designed for different garden situations, including paths, patios, driveways, beds and borders. The range includes both systemic weedkillers (which kill right down to the roots) and fast-acting contact weedkillers, helping gardeners choose the right solution for their needs.
Weedol® - Weed Control Products
Weedol® has been helping gardeners control weeds since 1905. Today, the range includes products for lawns, paths, patios, driveways, beds and borders, helping gardeners choose weed-control solutions for different areas of the garden. The portfolio includes both rapid-action and selective lawn weed-control products.
Clear™ - Pest Control Products
Clear™ brings together a range of plant protection and pest-control products, including RoseClear®, BugClear™, SlugClear™, FungusClear™, AntClear™, FlyClear™ and MothClear™. These products are designed to help gardeners manage common plant pests, diseases and household pest issues.
Patio Magic!® - Hard Surface Maintenance
Patio Magic!® provides products for maintaining outdoor hard surfaces, including patios, paths, driveways, masonry, decking and fencing. The range is designed to help remove algae and keep outdoor living areas looking their best. Designed for convenience, Patio Magic!® requires no scrubbing or pressure washing – simply saturate the area and leave to dry, making outdoor cleaning quick and effortless.
