The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body that helps companies set greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets aligned with climate science. These targets, known as science-based targets (SBTs), ensure companies are doing their part to limit global warming to well below 2°C, and ideally to 1.5°C, as outlined in the Paris Agreement. The SBTi provides the framework, tools, and validation for companies to set and achieve these ambitious, science-backed goals.
