Roundup® Weedkiller Total Optima is glyphosate free and comes in the iconic green pack you know and love. This product is a concentrated general purpose weedkiller and is ideal for use on weedy flower beds, vegetable patches and all around the garden. Once sprayed the active ingredient – pelargonic acid – starts working immediately, gives results in 3 hours and breaks down in soil naturally. Weeds will be dead in under 24 hours (if used in optimal conditions), leaving the area ready for replanting in just 3 days. Reduce plastic by purchasing a concentrate, this also allows for a larger coverage area of 110 m².
When to use
How to use
Use in a pressure sprayer only. Wear gloves and enclosed footwear.
- Work out the amount of concentrate required using the table on-pack. Measure and mark out out large areas before application.
- Fill sprayer with half the water required, then add the required quantity of concentrate (use the measuring cap).
- Add the remainder of water and mix throughly before applying. Spray the weeds ensuring good coverage of the leaves.
- Use the mixture immediately or soon after mixing. Only make as much as you plan to use within 2 hours. If left standing for more than 30 minutes shake the sprayer before using.
- Wash equipment thoroughly with water immediately after use, three times with water and drain the sprayer an area of bare soil not intended to bear vegetation.
Keep children and pets away from treated areas until spray has dried.
Where to use
Use to kill weeds on flower beds, borders, vegetable patches, around roses, shrubs, hedges, greenhouses and along fences. Ideal before cropping and ground clearance before cultivation.
Can be used to clean up weedy ground before planting vegetables, flowers, bushes and trees, and to renovate overgrown areas.
For the control of weeds around ornamental garden plants, trees and in areas not intended to bear vegetation.
Most effective when applied to newly established weeds or those less than 10–15 cm tall.
Do not direct spray or allow spray drift onto cultivated plants and lawn as this product destroys all green plant parts.
When to use
Apply in warm, calm, dry, conditions during April – November when weeds are actively growing.
Do not apply when there is a risk of frost or drought as weeds will not be actively growing.
Reapply if it rains within 3 hours of application. Reapply 7 to 21 days if required. Maximum 4 applications per year.

Contains 565.49 g/l Pelargonic acid as an Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC) formulation.

- Environmental protection: Avoid improper release to the environment. Do not contaminate water with the product or its container. Do not empty into drains. To protect aquatic organisms and non-target plants do not apply on impermeable hard surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, cobblestones, tarmac, paving, patio and other situations with a high risk of run-off. Direct spray away from ponds and other surface water bodies. Risk to non-target insects or other arthropods.
- Storage and disposal: KEEP PRODUCT IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER, tightly closed, in a safe place. KEEP AWAY FROM FOOD, DRINK AND ANIMAL FEEDING STUFFS. KEEP PRODUCT AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS. Dispose of empty container in the dustbin. Do not-reuse empty bottle for any other purposes. PROTECT FROM FROST.

- Dispose of contents/container to a household waste recycling centre as hazardous waste except for empty containers which can be disposed of in the dustbin. Contact your local council for details.

Decent product to use. Did start killing weed after spraying it but the product was abit confusing to use. As it wasn’t very clear how to use and that measurements for mixing it wasn’t very clear

It works well does what it says perhaps not as quick as some other similar products but it’s definitely more gentle to the environment. It did get rid of some persistent weeds in our garden over time. It’s a small concentrated bottle so it’s handy if you don’t have much space in your house. Instructions were clear.

I really liked this product the fact it’s animal friendly & able to put it on weeds around things you’re growing too. I made the mixture sprayed all where the weeds were coming through left it a day then went back. All the sprayed weeds had turned brown & had gone crusty this enabled me to pull them out with ease. Small bottle but packs a punch. Definitely worth the money.

I've been using the concentrate version of Roundup and it works really well. You mix it with water and spray it on-weeds usually start dying in a few days. It's strong stuff so I'm careful to follow the instructions and only use it when the weather's dry.Safety-wise I wear gloves and keep pets and kids away until everything's dry. Since it has glyphosate I try not to overuse it or spray near drains because of the environmental impact.It's not the cheapest option but since it's concentrated it lasts a long time and ends up being good value.

The effectiveness of this product is ok! You don’t get a lot of product in the small sized packaging. The instructions are easy to follow and understand which makes it safer and good on the environment.

I was really excited to give this a try. Seems to work well against the strong weeds that continuously grow back in our drive way. The results were visible the same day! It makes about 5L roughly I believe so definitely good value for money. I diluted the mixture following the guide and I had to get a sprayer to use the mix as I didn't realize that was the idea of this product. I hoped you could use it as it was already in the bottle 🙈 I would definitely consider using this again for effectiveness but would prefer a bit of a simpler/lazy option of something you can spray directly from the bottle. Although you do have to be aware (like most of these products) to keep children and pets out of the way!!

I recently tried Roundup Total Optima Weedkiller Concentrate and it certainly made an impact on my garden. This formula is designed to target weeds down to the root ensuring they don’t regrow. It’s perfect for larger outdoor spaces like driveways and patios as the concentrated formula provides great coverage.The packaging is easy to use and the application is straightforward. However I found the results weren’t as quick as advertised. While it claims to show visible results in 3 hours it took around 10 days for the weeds I treated to turn yellow and die off after two applications. That said it did effectively eliminate a variety of weeds including ivy thistles and dandelions.What I appreciate most is that it’s glyphosate-free which makes it a safer option for those concerned about harmful chemicals. However for a long-lasting effect I'd imagine would more regular treatment are required.Overall it works well but just be prepared to give it a little more time than expected.

This was my first time using this product and was happy with its effectiveness. It was effective in killing the weeds I managed to get rid of all the weeds that I had in my garden. The product is easy to use the instructions were easy to follow. If I need some more weed killer then I would definitely consider buying this product.
Powerful weedkiller

Very powerful weed killer after 1 hour of spraying my garden which is full of weeds the weeds started to go black/brown and wilt I left it for 2 days and then used a hoe to remove what was left of the weeds it does have quite a strong smell but as your using it outside you can’t smell it after a while I bough a sprayer gun to apply the weed killer it made it easy to use I did my front and back garden with the full bottle and it only took 10 minutes

Was fortunate to be able to review this product. We normally use the spray version which I have to be honest I do prefer as it seems to attack the small weeds far better. Its effectiveness for killing larger weeds was positive though. It’s good value for money and very safe how the environment. All In all a good product but I definitely prefer the spray

Its easy to use better than any others I've tried and as much as I avoid using 'killers' due to the impact on the environment and animals for patios it's a must. Read the instructions and dilute as required. I used a proper back spray as I have a large block drive which I spray completely. Only needed to spray once per year.Although seems expensive if diluted correctly will cover a very large area and last a long time.

This is by far the most effective weed killer out there at the moment gives great coverage of all lawns and really safe and easy to use. Very clear instructions and nice bottle easy to use. This is safe on my garden and has caused no damage.
