When to use
How to use
Create a new lawn or fill in a bare patch
1. Rake
- Rake the area to remove all weeds, stones and dead grass.
- If over-seeding your existing lawn ensure you mow the grass short first.
- Turn the soil over to a depth of 15-22cm (6-9in).
- For best results, lightly cover the area with Miracle-Gro® Lawn Dressing. Level and firm by treading the soil.
2. Shake
- Shake box to re-mix seed.
- Apply 30g per metre squared for new lawns or bare patches.
- Use the handy sprinkler on the side of the pack to create a criss-cross pattern by sowing half the seed from left to right and the rest from top to bottom.
- Gently rake in, then tread or roll seed into the soil.
3. Water
- Unless it rains, soak with a fine spray and keep the soil moist for the next few weeks. For best results, keep your new lawn watered regularly.
- The grass can be trimmed when it is 5-8cm (2-3in).
- Each time you mow, lower blade height a level until its at 2.5cm (1in).
- Do not cut more than a ⅓ off the growth at any one point.
- Start feeding the lawn after 12 weeks to ensure its kept healthy. We recommend Miracle-Gro® Healthy Lawn.
How to overseed an existing lawn
- Prepare the lawn by mowing it short, raking out dead grass, moss and debris.
- Apply a lawn dressing, such as Miracle-Gro® Lawn Dressing.
- In dry conditions, moisten the lawn.
- Sprinkle a small handful of seed for each square meter (25g).
- Lightly rake the seed into the lawn.
- Unless it rains, soak with a fine spray and keep soil moist for the next few weeks. For best results, keep your new lawn watered regularly.

Disappointing Results Despite Following Instructio

I had high hopes for Miracle-Gro Multi Purpose Lawn Seed after reading the claims about quick germination and a greener fuller lawn. We used it specifically to treat some patchy areas carefully following all the instructions — from soil prep to regular watering.Unfortunately even after several weeks we haven’t seen any noticeable improvement. The patches remain the same with little to no new growth. It’s especially disappointing since we followed the guidelines closely and were expecting at least some visible results by now.On a positive note the product is easy to apply and the instructions are straightforward. But in our experience it didn’t deliver the results it promised. While it might work better in different conditions it just didn’t meet expectations for us.

I recently used Miracle-Gro Multi-Purpose Lawn Seed and I couldn't be happier with the results. Before using this product my lawn was in a terrible state bald in many areas patchy all over and generally lifeless. I had tried a few other brands with minimal improvement but Miracle-Gro truly delivered.Packaging was clear informative and easy to reseal which helped keep the seed fresh between uses. The seed itself had a nice fine texture and was easy to spread by hand or with a spreader. I was impressed by how evenly it covered the bare areas and it blended well with my existing grass.The coverage was excellent one box went further than I expected making it really good value for money. Within a week I began to see signs of germination and by two weeks lush green shoots were coming through. Now just a few weeks later the lawn is thicker greener and looks healthier than ever. The new grass integrated beautifully with the old and you’d never guess it had been patchy before.Highly recommend this product to anyone struggling with lawn recovery or general upkeep. Miracle-Gro really lives up to its name!

I have to be honest I thought this would work great but it hasn't. Absolutely 0 growth in over 2 weeks now still ungerminated seed all over the lawn. Packaging was good easy to spread and covered well but no growth at all. I've had good results from budget brands so didn't expect this from a top brand.

The product is really easy to apply with the dispenser on the side of the box which distributes the product evenly. Follow the instructions carefully and you will get the grass growing back.

Sadly the seeds haven't really done a lot. The instructions were very clear but after spending more than £50 to prep the lawn for the seed we were very disappointed with the results. The garden also has lots of weeds growing that weren't present before. Have shown both before and after photos here

Wow! My grass was so sad lots of empty spaces a a lot a weeds I cleared all up and spread miracle gro and the results are amazing it covered all the garden good germination rate and there’s no weeds whatsoever I’m so happy with my beautiful healthy lawn! Highly recommended

I’m really impressed with Miracle-Gro Multi Purpose Lawn Seed. I used it to repair several patchy areas in my lawn caused by my dog’s toileting and from toys being left out by my child. The seed germinated quickly and those bare spots were soon filled in with healthy new growth. I also used it for overseeding the entire lawn and the results have been fantastic. My grass is now lush green and much more even. The built-in applicator on the box made spreading the seed really easy and helped ensure even coverage. It’s made a real difference to the overall appearance and feel of the garden. I’ll definitely be using this again in the future!

I received Miracle-Gro Multi Purpose Lawn Seed as a free trial and was impressed by its performance. The seed mix germinates quickly within 5 days and created a durable lush lawn. It's easy to apply and works well for both overseeding and new lawns. Although slightly more expensive the fast results and quality justify the cost.

Miracle grow multipurpose lawn seed is suitable for all lawns and has its first shoots in 7 days. It comes in a value pack box which covers up to 33 square metres so you can get some good coverage with this box. The good thing about this seed is that it can be used on new and existing lawns. It comes with really easy-to-follow visual instructions. Day 1 apply and water soil daily. Within 7 days shoots started to grow. Within a few weeks grass has grown in consistent patches. As instructed I made sure to remove all weeds and raked the areas needed which in my case was urine patches from my dog. I recommend this value box for the coverage it proves and the ease of use with it having shoots within 7 days. Beginners are able to use this product due to the simplicity of the instructions!

I was hoping that this lawn seeds will be great. I do have a shady area in my garden and during winter months there is a lot of moss instead of grass. So I removed the moss and we used these seeds. On the second photo you can see how fast it is growing- after nearly 2 weeks is barely visible. Coverage is not the best also-nearly used whole packaging for probably 2mx2m. Work a try if price is discounted.

So I decided to put some down and hope for the best as I was away! I’ve come back and it’s growing really well! I’m so chuffed with it. Small amount has covered a large amount of my garden just a few patches to cover. Easy to use. Only thing is it’s leaked some of the seed out of the box but not massive amounts

I found this product to be good value but a little tricky to apply evenly. Maybe it’s because this is the first time i’ve used this type of product before and i know there are tools available to aid the job however it should be straight from the box. It’s still early and only been a week but starting to see some new fresh shoots already. I’ve used this brands products before and i will definitely buy more.

Amazing product. So easy to use and honestly saved my garden. The dog has dug up large portions of the grass but this seed took so well and now garden looks fresher than ever for spring and summer which is lovely.

I love miracle- gro products a very trusted and reliable brand. This grass seed is super easy to use with a built in sprinkle panel on the side for easy distribution - something that is often missing on other brands of grass seed. Excited to see it's germination over the coming weeks especially with the good weather.
